AIESEC: Shaping Leaders Worldwide
AIESEC's presence spans over 110 nations, all united by a powerful vision: to achieve peace and the fulfilment of humankind's potential. We believe in the power of youth to lead, and we create opportunities for them to develop essential leadership skills.
How do we do this? AIESEC facilitates a dynamic network of Cross-cultural Exchanges, offering a diverse range of transformative experiences:

AIESEC in Sri Lanka: A Legacy of Leadership
Our story in Sri Lanka began in 1995 with the establishment of AIESEC in Sri Lanka as a proud member chapter of AIESEC International. Since then, we've been dedicated to creating a positive impact by providing vital leadership opportunities to the nation's youth, empowering them to drive our country towards a brighter future.
AIESEC in University of Moratuwa (Colombo South): A Hub for Youth Leadership
Here in Sri Lanka, AIESEC in University of Moratuwa (also known as AIESEC in Colombo South) holds a special place in our history. We were one of the very first two local committees formed right alongside the national establishment in 1995, and we've been a driving force for youth empowerment ever since.
Today, AIESEC in University of Moratuwa is a vibrant community with over 180 active members. These dedicated young individuals are passionate about creating opportunities for both local and foreign students through our incoming and outgoing exchange programs.
Through these impactful exchanges, our members actively engage in and organize various initiatives, including:
- Lead CS: Our flagship leadership development seminar, designed to equip young AIESEC members with essential skills and knowledge for modern leadership.
- Idealize: A dynamic web development competition that challenges participants to innovate and showcase their technical prowess.
- Hope: A community development project focused on empowering communities, often through digital literacy or education, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals.
Our commitment extends beyond our immediate local committee. AIESEC in University of Moratuwa proudly acts as a Local Committee that provides the privilege and platform for students from other universities to develop into young leaders.
Currently, we guide three thriving initiative groups:
- General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University
- Sri Lanka Technological Campus
- Horizon Campus
Students from these universities gain access to a world of opportunities, including participation in diverse Conferences, Summits, and Leadership Development Programs, all under the umbrella of AIESEC in University of Moratuwa. We're committed to supporting these universities in initiating and developing AIESEC as a strong and impactful organization within their own campuses.
